Both David and Aline Barrett got saved at a young age and were called to missions in their early teens. David’s parents, Larry and Lydabelle Barrett, who were missionaries to Brazil through BIMI since 1974, won Aline’s parents to the Lord when they started their ministry in Jundiaí, São Paulo, many years ago. Eventually, Aline’s family had to move away to another city, but years later, through a series of circumstances directed by God, Aline returned to Jundiaí, and came back to the church David was serving in. She met David again after more than 18 years, and it was almost love at first sight! After a period or dating, they got engaged and then finally got married. God has blessed them with two wonderful boys, Benjamin and Gabriel. They served the Lord for many years under David’s parents’ ministry but have now felt led to become full-time second-generation missionaries to Brazil. Since Aline is Brazilian and David spent most of his life in Brazil, they know the Brazilian culture and language well, and have a great love for Brazil and its people. They plan to work with church planting, working alongside men that graduate from the Bible Institute in Brazil, helping them start churches in cities that have no Independent Baptist churches. They also plan on working in production of Godly Christian music and translation of good Christian literature to Portuguese.
