Introductory Video

Andrew and Shawn were recently married in November 2019. They are passionate about declaring the Gospel in Ireland and doing the work of church-planters by way of preaching, teaching, and discipleship. The pace in Irish missions is often slow, but they have had the joy of discovering that those who will faithfully, prayerfully persist in the mission work have the joy of seeing what only God can do.

Andrew grew up in Ireland as a missionary kid, and has long seen the need of Ireland. Andrew was saved at the age of five, and surrendered to the ministry as a teen. It was during Bible college however, the Lord clearly led him to return to Ireland. After graduating from Bible College, Andrew began working at Hope Baptist Church in Dublin under his father, Missionary Dan Canavan.

Shawn, originally from Rhode Island, grew up in a loving but lost home. God used a dark time in her mother’s life to cause her to read a Gospel tract and she was immediately converted. God turned Shawn’s family around, and she was saved two years later as a teenager. She soon dedicated her life to the Lord, and followed His will to Bible College. For the past eight years, she has taught in their Christian school, and is thrilled to continue working with children and ministering to the people of Ireland.

Andrew began deputation in September 2019. Married a few months later, Andrew and Shawn began married life on the road, and are excited to get back to Ireland. They have a burden for establishing independent Baptist churches on the West coast of Ireland, a particularly needy area.
