Benjamin & Rebecca Edwards

Serving in Japan, Far East

Ben and Rebecca Edwards were saved as children in their local church. They were married in 1991 and have four children. Ben served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years. Near the end of his career he felt God calling him into missions. He retired from the military in 2010, and pursued a degree in Pastoral Studies at Heart of America Theological Seminary, graduating in May 2013. After graduation, Ben and Rebecca went on an Asian survey trip, seeking God's will for the place He would have them serve. The LORD used that trip to open their eyes to the need for missionaries around the world, and specifically in Japan. In February 2014, Ben was ordained at Tri-City Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri, and in June they were accepted as missionaries with Baptist International Missions Inc. The Edwards family served their first 2 years at the US Navy base Yokosuka working with military missions. During this time the Lord burdened their hearts for the Japanese nationals. They are currently serving with Akigawa Baptist Church in Hinode, Japan awaiting language school to resume after COVID-19.

Their ministry is to assist in planting and sustaining local Baptist Churches with the goal of presenting the Gospel message, leading souls to Christ, and the spiritual maturity of believers resulting in service to our Lord. Please consider partnering with them in reaching their local community in Japan. They are serving the LORD with the assistance of Baptist International Missions and have been sent out by Tri-City Baptist Church in Blue Springs, Missouri.
