John & Robin Harris

Serving in Belize, Central America

We are the Harris Family, Church planting missionaries to Belize, Central America. We are excited to see God do amazing things for the people of Belize. Robin and I truly believe God has prepared us for the work He has for us. We have assisted in the starting of two churches. I have been a preacher to both children and teenagers, a bus captain, a Sunday school teacher of all different ages, and I started a junior church. I also have been an assistant pastor and personally mentored by Dr. Gary Dice, our former pastor. I have also taken five missions trips to the countries of The Philippines, Thailand, Canada, and three trips to Belize before we even moved here. On those trips God opened my heart to missions and the need for the gospel to be spread throughout the world.

Robin was a Sunday school teacher of all ages, and she was the secretary of the bus captain of her bus route. Her bus captain described her as one of his top producers. Robin has been to Belize on three separate occasions before she moved here. On those trips God opened her eyes and her heart to world missions.

We are sent out of the Grace Baptist Church of Pittsfield, Illinois and our Pastor is Randy Love. God used a veteran missionary to help guide our hearts to Belize. We were going to originally help his family as the director of the children's ministries but as we observed and interacted with the people of the country we found it hard pressed to find a Baptist church of any kind in the country, only the type of Baptists that belong to an association. Through the leading of the Holy Ghost we decided to establish independent Baptist churches throughout the country. Pray for us as we have been handed a great opportunity to reach a nation. In September of 2018 we planted the Grace Baptist Church of Dangriga, Stann Creek, Belize. We have seen plenty of people saved, baptized, and actively becoming discipled. We minister mainly to the Garifuna people and as far as we know we are the only Independent Baptist Church amongst the Garifuna in Belize. Our family has lived in Belize since 2017 and we have seen God use us. This is home to Robin, myself, and our three children Zechariah, Madalyn, and Kaitlyn.
