Ed & Carole Hembree

Ed & Carole were married in December, 1970, just after high school. Although neither were saved when they were married, in 1973 they came to know the Lord. Very shortly after, Ed felt God's call to full-time service. Following God's leading Ed & Carole and their three children moved to Chattanooga in 1975 to attend Tennessee Temple Univ.
After graduating in 1979, Ed and Carole moved to Henderson, Kentucky where Ed was pastor for the following 8 years. In 1989 the Lord called the Hembrees to Mesquite, Texas where Ed was pastor for the following 3 years. It was during a mission's conference at this church that the Lord called them to Romania as missionaries.
In 1991, Ed and Carole attended candidate school at BIMI and because their children were already grown, they were able to complete deputation and be on the field of Romania in 18 months. For the past 16 years they have worked in Romania and have been used to plant churches the first of which is now completely indigenous, established a children's home ministry, operated a 4 year Bible Institute which has graduated 70 men, and has helped in the starting of Independent Baptist College of Romania where he remains as director.
In 2007 Ed became assistant European director for BIMI, helping Bro. & Mrs. Holladay. While still living in Romania and overseeing many of the ministries, Ed & Carole also assist the Holladays in any way they can. Their ministry now has the added dimension of helping other missionaries all over Europe.
Ed & Carole plan to continue their work in Romania and to work in the new capacity of Europea director. Their status remains unchanged, they receive no income other than from the support of churches and individuals.
