Director’s Desk - “Minutemen Manpower”
During the 18th century minutemen were hand selected elite forces picked from the militia ranks to be highly mobile for military movements. These troops were “ready in a minute” to assist on maneuvers. Hence the term “minutemen” came into usage.
The CLAIM ministry utilizes the help of minutemen manpower on projects that are brought to our attention between the printings of our Newsletter. For example recently a team of a dozen men took on an emergency project in Georgia. Also another team went to Germany to work on an urgently requested project for a military church ministry. We at the CLAIM ministry want to salute these minutemen. We are proud of their service as elite forces in the work of the Lord. To everyone else that makes a difference in missions through the CLAIM ministry we say, “THANK YOU”!

MINUTEMEN MANPOWER NEEDED
Two missionary homes used by BIMI missionaries and others are in desperate need of repair. The two units must have gable porches (8’ x 8’) placed over the front steps. “The roofs on both homes are completely gone and need immediate attention.” Some decking damage is visible on one of the homes. This project is in the Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia area. Are you a minuteman that can help with this current need? If so, please contact Carl Vonnoh at (423) 313-5391 or cjvclaim@bellsouth.net for further information.

Paint for New Life Baptist Church in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico
This three story building has been the longest ongoing project ever (about 14 years) for the CLAIM ministry. This church sees light at the end of the tunnel for completing this building and the light is not another train. Yet, your help is needed on this work one more time. Bill Ferguson desperately needs $2,000 to purchase paint for this project. Please send all funds for the paint to: BIMI, account #1071, “Puerto Rico Paint”, P.O. Box 9215, Chattanooga, TN 37412. Thank you in advance for helping to conclude this project.
Radio 104.5 Lighthouse FM
Layne Jones on the island of Samar in the Philippines has the opportunity to reach over 1 million people with the gospel of Christ via radio waves. Brother Layne has a radio booth set up worth $6,000. However his local antenna and transmitter, in his word, are “junk.” Do you have a passion for the radio ministry? Brother Jones needs $10,000 for a new transmitter and antenna. According to Brother Jones this will be the first Fundamental Baptist radio station in the Philippines. The broadcast will also be streamed over the Internet. PLEASE GIVE AND PRAY TOWARD 104.5 LIGHTHOUSE FM. Funds for this project may be sent to Brother Layne Jones at: BIMI, account #616, “Radio Ministry”, P.O. Box 9215, Chattanooga, TN 37412. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this tremendous opportunity.
Carpet Layer(s) Needed for Zambia, Africa
Brother Andy Schultz built a house two years ago to save on exorbitant rent money. The house has seven rooms and two hallways that need carpet laid. Brother Andy has a large roll of carpet from the U.S. He has the padding, tack strips, glue strips, carpet tape and a “kicker.” He is missing a carpet layer(s) with the professional skill to put down the carpet properly. He says no one in his area knows how to install carpet. Can you help this faithful brother? He is willing to assist with a large portion of the plane ticket expense. Plus, there would be no room and board fee. For further information about this project, please contact Carl Vonnoh.
Yokosuka Baptist Church in Japan Makes a Plea
Brother Mark Sage at this fine military ministry needs help with two projects. First, they want to replace the rolling overhead service doors and secure the building with regular doors and locks. Secondly, they want to build about 50’ of cabinetry with various shelving and a module desk. This will be used in a new Christian school that is being planned. These folks will take care of your housing, food expense and transportation cost in Japan. Can you help with this much needed project? Please contact Carl Vonnoh for further information.
