in conjunction with Amazon for Christ
continues the mission of the Great Physician. The team will travel by plane, bus, and boat with a group of medical personnel and evangelists reaching remote areas of the Amazon Basin with the Gospel message. In the jungle, medical care is often a key that opens doors to church planting. The team will experience firsthand several aspects unique to mission work in the Amazon: jungle boat ministry, school evangelism, tropical wildlife, as well as Colombia and Peru’s unique hospitality.
Colombia and Peru
are among nine South American countries that share the Amazon Basin. The Amazon holds the largest concentration of unreached people anywhere on earth. The team will travel by boat to remote river villages in the region. The people of the Amazon are comprised of three groups: local fishing villages, indigenous tribes, and unreached indigenous tribes. The team will focus their efforts among the fishing villages where Spanish is the predominate language spoken and among the Tikuna who speak an indigenous language.
will be hosted by BIMI missionaries Mark Gerosin, Peter Putney, Nate Hudson, and Seth and Susana Lunday. The team will also be joining in the work with several national pastors.
Each trip participant will have their flight booked from the airport nearest their home to Leticia, Colombia. Additional money may be brought along for activities, gifts, or souvenirs.
Special Information for Medical Personnel:
If you will be using your medical training to assist the team, you will be required to provide a copy of your credentials and diploma. Pre-registration with the Colombian/Peruvian Ministries of Health is required.
