Richard Conrad
Missionary Richard Conrad Home with the Lord

Richard Conrad, missionary to Japan, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2012, at 8:00 p.m., Japan time (Monday, 6:00 a.m. EST). Brother Conrad was being treated for cold-like symptoms at a local clinic; however, about two hours later he had a heart attack.

The Conrads were accepted as BIMI missionaries on July 1, 1980. They were faithful to the mission field of Japan for 31 years. Please be in prayer for his wife, Beth, and their children. Also be praying for their church and friends in Japan.

Thank you for praying for the Conrad family during this difficult time. Because of the high cost of transporting a body back to the United States (over $19,000 on the Japanese side), the funeral will be held in Japan at noon Japanese time on Monday, February 27, 2012. That would be Sunday night, February 26, US time. David and Jenny Harris, Far East Director for BIMI, will be attending and participating in the funeral.

Beth has asked that donations be given in lieu of flowers. The church in Japan is small and there is no room for flowers. They are planning for an overflow crowd with many unsaved people attending. Donations can be given directly to the Conrad's account #66 at BIMI.
