Hurricane Florence Disaster Relief

Update 9/20/18

Hurricane Florence has caused extensive flood damage in the Carolinas and produced record-breaking rainfall totals. As of this date, the death toll now stands at 37 with 27 fatalities alone in North Carolina. Some people are still being rescued and floodwaters are continuing to cause millions of dollars in damage.

Even before the storm came ashore, pastors, churches, and individuals contacted BIMI concerning a disaster relief fund to assist the people and churches in the storm hit areas. Initial disaster relief funding that we are receiving is being sent directly to independent Baptist churches who are involved in providing immediate help and assistance for people in need in the flood hit areas of the storm.

As the cleanup and rebuilding process gets underway, funds will then be used to clean, repair, and rebuild Baptist church buildings and ministry facilities. Please contribute online or send your contribution to:

As we watch Hurricane Florence impact the Southeast United States, our prayers are with the people of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. At this point in time, it is hard to know the extent of all the damage or what will be the eventual outcome. As this devastating storm developed, BIMI was contacted by churches and individuals and asked to implement a disaster relief fund to assist the people and churches in storm hit areas.

Initial disaster relief funding that is received by BIMI will be sent directly to independent Baptist churches who will be involved in providing immediate help and assistance to the people of the storm hit region. As the cleanup and rebuilding process gets underway, funds will then be used to clean, repair, and rebuild independent Baptist church buildings and ministry facilities. Thank you for your prayers and concern.
