We are Joel and Brooke Daku. God has blessed our family with three wonderful children, Daniel, Adelynn, and Bennett. We are so thankful for the calling God has placed upon our family to serve here in the nation of Kiribati (pronounce Kee-ree-boss). Kiribati is island nation comprised of 33 coral atolls with a population of around 112,000. We can testify of the Lord's faithfulness as we serve here in this remote island nation. Despite the difficulty we face in learning and attempting to speak the I-Kiribati language, God has worked in the lives of many I-Kiribati people. Many souls have been saved and baptized. In November of 2013, Tarawa Baptist Church was born and God continues to add to his church. We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for our family and the work here in Kiribati. The Lord has begun a good work here in Kiribati and we are confident that He will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ (Phil. 1:6).
