The Gilbreath Family
John and Rebecca GilbreathServing in Mexico, Central America
We are the Gilbreath family, missionaries on deputation to go to the field of Juárez, Mexico. My wife and I grew up in Christian homes and in the ministry. Both of us were saved and baptized at a young age. I felt God's direction in my life towards missions when I was 11. My first missions trip was to Mexico. Little did I know then, that God would use that mission trip to guide me to where I am now. I was in the Navy when Rebecca and I married and we were faithful in our church. The call to missions was not forgotten and God began to direct me to attend Bible college in 2002. In 2003, I had the joy of leading our son, Jonathan, to the Lord when he was seven years old. He was baptized a few months later. In 2006, BIMI accepted us as one of their own and we have been on deputation raising our support. Our goal is to have the rest of our support raised by the summer of 2010 and start language school. When we are done with language school, we will be working with and training under Rebecca's dad, missionary John Ridings, in the city of Juárez for a time. We will then begin a work on our own. We have more information here.
