GULF COAST REGION PROJECTS:

Faith Baptist Church — Abbeville, Louisiana
Pastor John Yanez
Praise God! Work crews have helped this church to be within 60-70 percent of completion. In the last CLAIM Newsletter they needed $20,500. God’s generous people have taken care of the majority of this need. Yet, there is still a need of $8,000 to pay off some debt at Lowe’s and to get some trim work and cabinets. Laborers are needed in the following areas: trim work and cabinetry. Can you help?

Faith Baptist Church — Violet, Louisiana
This church was under eight feet of water for three weeks. The church must be gutted and totally rebuilt inside. $65,000 is being raised for this need. $19,500 has been received thus far. The pastor lost his home and everything in it during the storm. Plans are underway to build a parsonage for Pastor Brent Norris. Can you help?
A vacant lot adjacent to Faith Baptist has been secured for a tent relief ministry like the one at Calvary Baptist Church in Bay Saint Louis. Please pray that many souls will be saved. Help is needed with reconstruction of Faith Baptist Church. Relief workers will be needed for the tent ministry. Finances are needed as well.

Military Servicemen’s Center — Diberville, Mississippi
Missionary Kevin Knight needs your help. He is rebuilding his home which serves as his living quarters, as well as the Military Servicemen’s Center. Brother Knight needs laborers to finish carpentry work, paint, and lay carpet. If you can help, plan to go fully self-contained with a motor home or a travel trailer. Some food will be available for volunteers.

Candlestick Baptist Church — Sulphur, Louisiana
Pastor Larry Gandy
A work crew from Washington Courthouse Baptist Church in Washington Courthouse, Ohio, is helping put up the metal shell building for the nursery, activities facilities and two bath rooms. Pastor Daniel Proctor and Crossroads Baptist Church donated $23,000 to erect this building.
Additional help is needed by finish carpenters, sheet rock hangers and finishers. Another $20,000 is the estimated cost to finish renovating the inside of this building.

Biloxi River Baptist Church — Gulfport, Mississippi
Pastor Allen Smith
Work crews have helped rebuild the home of a family from this church whose house was flooded. They had no flood insurance. Their need was $40,000. Of that amount, $20,000 has come in thus far. This family still needs another $20,000. Laborers are still needed in the following areas: sheet rock hanging and finishing, ceramic tile work and painting.

Lighthouse Baptist Church — Pascagoula, Mississippi
Pastor Jerry Reed
Praise God!  In the last newsletter we mentioned this church needed $100,000.  About $15,000 of this amount has been received.  They are still in need of $85,000.  Teams have helped complete two widows’ houses.  There is one more house that needs to be completed.  These people were without flood insurance.
The church did not have flood insurance.  The following supplies are still needed:  kitchen cabinets for the church and the educational building, and kitchen counter tops for Pastor Reed’s home. Electricians are needed to do some wiring (the wire has been donated), and there is also a desperate need for sheetrock hangers and finishers.
