We are pleased to welcome Lois Emr as the newest CLAIM missionary. She was born in Costa Rica, Central America. Her missionary parents, Dr. and Mrs. David Solt, established Christian radio stations throughout Central America and Mexico. Lois came to know the Lord at the age of 5. At age nine she was baptized and surrendered to full time Christian service at age 17. Upon graduation from nursing, school at Grandview Hospital School of Nursing she attended Philadelphia College of Bible where she earned her BS in Bible. There she met Doug Emr through the Student Missionary Fellowship. After graduation they married on July 3, 1971. The Emrs have four children, Joy, Douglas, David and Daniel. Each of them has professed faith in Christ as Saviour.
The Emrs have ministered in home missions in Philadelphia and in the pastorate of three churches in Pennsylvania. In 1994 they moved to the Ukraine as missionaries. During 8 years of ministry there, the Lord allowed them to establish 7 Independent Baptist Churches, all of which have been Nationalized. The Emrs founded International Baptist Bible College in Belaya Tserkov. This fine work continues to train pastors and missionaries. Brother Emr went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2002 at age 54.
Lois desires to stay in missions with CLAIM. This change was approved on April 1, 2003. CLAIM affords Mrs. Emr many opportunities to use her skills and talents for the Lord. She is a Registered Nurse and is also fluent in Russian and Spanish. Lois will organize and lead medical projects to assist missionaries all over the world. Through these trips she desires to see many people come to know the Lord. Many lay people and professionals will be blessed as they get involved in these trips.
Thank you for praying for this new CLAIM missionary. She will be a tremendous addition to the CLAIM team.
