PROJECT GUYANA
By Carl Vonnoh, Jr.

A CLAIM team consisting of men from Meadow Park Baptist Church, Mount Vernon, Texas, along with Jim Johnson and I, worked extremely hard to help Brother Noel Shrivnauth with his building project. The three story building measures 30’ x 100’. A tongue and groove flooring was put in place for the second and third floors. The front and back stairways were built for both floors. Divisions for Sunday School rooms were assembled on the second floor.

Everyone stayed healthy on this project except for the day one of our local workers provoked the neighborhood bee hive. You should have seen most of us run that day. One of our men stuck to a wall like glue, but the bees managed to find him as well.

More importantly than working on the building were the men who got saved during this trip. Missionary Noel Shrivnauth took our men witnessing. On that same Thursday evening I had the privilege of leading the hotel owner, Mr. Mark Chandra, to the Lord. The following Sunday night he made his profession of faith public along with another young man who had been saved on the last CLAIM trip. Brother Noel gave me the wonderful opportunity of baptizing both men. Later in the week Pastor Henager from Texas witnessed to Brother Mark’s friend who also got saved and was baptized by Brother Troy. These men coming to Christ was the highlight of our trip. Praise the Lord!

The CLAIM team taking a rest against the huge trunk of that tree.
