Welcome the Henrys
By CLAIM director Carl Vonnoh
The following is a short autobiography of our newest CLAIM missionaries, Jim and Jennifer Henry.
I was not born into a Christian home. My parents were not saved and did not start attending church regularly until we were invited to attend Lakewood Baptist Church by bus ministry visitors. My sisters, my mother and I received Christ as our Saviour first. My father did not receive Christ until later. I was saved in the month of October, 1976. We were all baptized at the same time by the pastor, Dr. David Bragg.
Recently, my wife and I became aware of the need that CLAIM has, and began praying as to what the Lord would have us do. We felt that He was leading us to become involved in the ministry and commit our lives to Him and to this ministry. We look forward to what the Lord is going to do.
-James (Jim) Henry
I was born in San Diego, California to Christian parents. My parents were serving at Fundamental Baptist Church where I was saved in junior church on February 18, 1979, and later baptized in October of 1980.
Through a pastor’s influence and recommendation, my parents left California by faith for Tennessee Temple University to pursue their ministry degrees. I attended Tennessee Temple High School and University, graduating with an Associates Degree in Secretarial. I spent 6 summers serving and ministering at Camp Joy where I met my husband. We were married in August, 1992. I then joined Lakewood Baptist Church and through the Lord’s working have become the Church Secretary serving with Dr. Bragg. I also help my husband teach the Young Adults Sunday School class.
The Lord has been working in our lives to bring us to the point of working with missionaries in the needs they have for construction, etc.
We dedicated our lives to working with CLAIM in November, 2002, and are anxious to see how the Lord is going to use our talents and abilities to help others with their work for Him in furthering the gospel.
-Jennifer Henry
