Best Medical Project Yet!

A CLAIM team was in the Philippines from September 5-19, 2006. Several medical clinics were conducted through various locations of the Philippines: San Juan, Metro Manila; Antipolo; Bulacan (working with BIMI missionaries Dave and Ginny Diamante) and Catarman, Samar (working with BIMI missionaries Layne and Nelia Jones). God used these medical clinics as a successful tool for evangelization. Praise the Lord! Over the two week period more than 600 people made professions of faith in Christ. These were not just people raising their hands to get saved. After each person attended the medical clinic a national worker sat down with them and explained the Gospel. Please pray for the spiritual growth of each person who made a profession of faith.

Around 8-10 million Muslims live in the Philippines. CLAIM team member, Dr. Kevin Kiswani, a converted Muslim, had several opportunities to share his testimony. He spoke to the city police and to the Philippine Army located in Catarman, and in both places several of these men trusted Christ as Savior. Also, the commander for the Philippine National Police of Northern Samar trusted Christ as Savior.

The orphans at the Jones’ orphanage in Catarman, Samar, had whole-heartedly worked on building footers for their new home. Our construction team, consisting of Dr. Weeks, his son, Trey and Pastor Gunderson, realized that the footers were being installed incorrectly. Lovingly they worked with the orphans and taught them how to build the footers correctly. The construction team certainly helped get things in order so that the orphanage could progress. Pray for this good ministry of Layne Jones and that orphanage might be completed soon. As we look at them we see Christian young people living for the Lord and serving Him full-time with their lives. These young men are special and our prayer is that they will grow to become preachers, missionaries, Christian leaders, doctors and construction workers.

More trips will be made to this area, perhaps next year, Lord willing. Our desire is to have more medical clinics in the near future. Stay tuned for more information. Thank you for praying for this project.
