2022 Field Conference
By Bob Larson, BIMI USA Director
In view of the fact that we did not have the opportunity to gather
together since 2019, this year’s USA Field Conference was a special
event for our USA missionaries and church planters. Fellowship
Baptist Church of Madison, Virginia, graciously volunteered
to host our meeting. Pastor Dale Freeman and his staff went
above and beyond in welcoming our missionary families and
conducting a ministry of encouragement from Sunday, March
20 through Wednesday, March 23. The theme for this year was
Don’t Quit.
Beautiful gift baskets were presented by the church to each of our
missionary families when they arrived. Every meal was delicious,
and the church did an amazing job of serving our group of adults
and children. Reseeding America arranged for local motel rooms
for all our people and funding came from churches and individuals
from around the country who helped contribute to our conference.
Separate morning sessions for the ladies and men were held
each day to update our missionaries and encourage them in
their various ministries. The Fellowship Baptist Church staff did
a tremendous job when it came to speaking to our group. This
entire meeting was held in conjunction with a churchwide missions emphasis and
all the evening services were Spirit filled and challenging. God used Missionary
Keith Shumaker in a very special way as
he preached each evening. Afternoon
family activities included a trip to the James
Madison Museum in Orange, Virginia, and
a fun-filled afternoon at the Shenandoah
National Park in Luray, Virginia.
We would like to give “Special Thanks” to
Pastor Freeman, Brother David Thompson
(the Missions Director at Fellowship Baptist),
the staff, and the congregation for making
the 2022 BIMI USA Field Conference
one we will long remember. A big “Thank
You” also goes to the many churches and
individuals for helping us house our USA
families during this meeting.
6 Reseeding America – Spring 2022
A Review of 2021
Our focus for 2021 was church planting in America. The book of Acts records
that in the first century Christianity spread rapidly across the Roman Empire by
the starting of new churches. The apostles considered no other option for Gospel
expansion. Church history reveals that Christianity has extended to new regions
and new people in every generation through intentional and spontaneous church
planting. Early American church history confirms that the starting of many new churches was
the key to the rapid expansion of Christianity in our own nation. We are Christians
today because previous generations of believers passed on their faith by reproducing
their churches through church planting.
At Reseeding America, we remain convinced and committed to the fact that
God wants the people of our nation and the world reached with the truth about
His saving power through the Lord Jesus Christ. Church planting is the way to
accomplish this task.
The USA Division of BIMI (The Reseeding America Ministry) assists our USA
missionary church planters in their ministry of proclaiming the Gospel to the deaf,
the hearing, and the different ethnic groups as well as those in mainstream America
as they establish New Testament Baptist churches.
In early 2021, Reseeding America and BIMI Media produced a video to promote
church planting in America. This video was used throughout the year in weekend
missions meetings and in USA Mission Conferences. New brochures encouraging
church planting were printed and new Reseeding America displays were ordered,
promoting the new theme for the year. Social media was used throughout 2021 to
promote church planting in regions where churches are needed.
