them in multiple new countries across the African
continent. Ron’s main focus became the country of
Uganda, which saw its first BIMI missionary in 1994
and soon grew to over 20 missionary families which
at the time was the most populated country of BIMI
missionaries in the world!

One of the joys of serving the Lord is
the quality of friends that He brings
into our lives. For almost 50 years, my
family and Ron Bragg’s have worked
together and loved each other. We
were students in language school
together. We started BIMI’s work in
Senegal together. We prayed for each
other and still do. Our children grew
up together. To the Bragg children, we
are “Uncle JB and Aunt Linda.” They
are “Uncle Ron and Aunt Donna” to
ours. While we were in Senegal, Ron
would occasionally jokingly say to me,
“JB, you and I will never be famous
missionaries living in a place like this!”
By God’s grace, He allowed us to be
faithful missionaries! We thank the
Lord for the influence that this kind,
generous, hardworking family has had
on our lives.

Besides teaching at Candidate School, influencing
hundreds through CAMP BIMI each year, and
training new missionaries through classes, counseling,
and phone calls, the Braggs would often visit their
missionaries across Africa. With extra suitcases full
of “goodies” for the missionary children, they quickly
endeared themselves to scores of “MKs” (missionary
kids). Their uplifting words, coupled with counsel from
their past experiences in Africa, gave instruction and
encouragement to all their missionaries and kept many
serving on the field when they would have turned back
and resigned. Countless stories could be added here to
tell of all their influence across the African continent!
When asked about their investment in others, they
said, “We would not trade the life the Lord gave us
for anything in this world. We are so looking forward
to our home in Heaven where we will meet those
Senegalese God allowed us to lead to the Lord—
all the wonderful church members and pastors we
have brushed shoulders with as well as all the Africa
missionary families whose lives we have touched. God
is so good!” W
