Changed Life in Christ
A Three Hour Bicycle Ride Results in A New Creature at 65

Uganda, Africa

The commitment of new converts can be convicting. A 65 year old man named Edotu raised his hand during the invitation and started walking to the front during a service in Soroti, Uganda. He said he needed this Christ that was preached about that morning. One of the older men took him to a room and led him to Christ. Mr. Edotu met the missionary (Jeremy Pittman) after the service and stated, "Pastor, my eyes have been opened and I have peace, I have never heard this teaching before but it convicted my heart as I have been going the wrong way for so many years. Thank you for telling me the truth that has set me free!" The missionary pastor encouraged him to come to the his home for discipleship lessons. He had no idea that Edotu lived 3 hours away by bicycle and this was his first time to visit the church. Edotu has shown great faithfulness to these lessons. He has even come when he has had malaria. He told the missionary last week that his wife said to him, "Ever since you have been born again, you have been acting like a new man around this village!" In fact, his wife reminds him of his discipleship lessons every week because she has been so encouraged by his new life! How often do we think that a 30 minute ride to our local church is a long time? What about 3 hours on a bicycle? Please continue to keep Edotu and his wife in your prayers!
