The CLAIM (Christian Laymen Assisting International Missionaries) ministry of BIMI has inspired pastors and churches to organize a Men’s Missionary Fellowship (MMF). The purpose of a MMF is to get Christian laymen to pray for and become personally involved in the needs of missionaries. This involvement may be through financial support or by personally going to the field and being physically involved in a tangible project. This may be the construction of a church or school building or rebuilding facilities destroyed by earthquakes, hurricanes, or other disasters. Each talent God has given His people can be used on the mission field.
Those who have been involved in mission projects through CLAIM or other organizations like Construction For Worldwide Evangelism (CWE) are never the same after working with missionaries. Many Christians have a greater understanding and passion for missions after being used of God to accomplish a mission project.
Northside Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC, is an example of the help one church, with a vision, can do. For many years, they have given money for construction projects on various mission fields, and their men have gone to do the work. Only eternity will reveal what they have done for Christ and national churches.
