by John Ramsey – BIMI Comptroller

On June 13, 2005, I was one of about 500 people present for the dedication of the World Missions Center of BIMI. One of my most precious memories of this special occasion is about one of the founding Trustees of BIMI—Dr. Lee Roberson. That day, in his signature double–breasted blue suit, he spoke with great passion of his love for world missions. In fact, he said that the most important thing that he ever did with his life was to get involved in world evangelism. When you think of all of the things that he accomplished with his life, that is an amazing statement. That day, he suggested that the road to the our property be renamed “Compassion Lane.” Compassion for the lost sinners of the world is what drove Dr. Lee Roberson.

Just a few weeks ago, I was with Dr. James Ray at the World Missions Center when Dr. Buddy Nichols and his wife Lee Anne, Dr. Roberson’s daughter, dropped by. I was there because my father hand–makes beautiful wooden clocks that we give to the family or widow at the homegoing of a board member. Dr. Ray asked me to present the Nichols a clock on that day. They had come with a gift from the estate of Dr. Roberson. In his will, he had stipulated that $10,000 be left to BIMI. They felt that this gift was so important to Dr. Roberson that they delivered it to us personally. It represented his love for world missions…and for BIMI. Although he is gone, his love for missions continues.

That gift was placed into the Lee Roberson Living Forever Fund. The interest from this account will be used for world evangelism until Jesus comes. We invite you to join in the legacy of Dr. Lee Roberson. Your gift to the Lee Roberson Living Forever Fund will be added to the generous gift of our great friend and used to impact the nations of the world. This compassion he felt will live on as will his memory.
