Our mission record is full of men and women who have been led by God to leave the USA to plant churches overseas. Some of these men were serving as pastors of local churches when they were called. Occasionally, however, the Lord has redirected missionaries from overseas back to USA ministry. Illness, political instability, and family concerns are common factors involved. Some of these returning missionaries accept pastorates and resign from church planting ministry. Still, others feel led of the Lord to continue in the special task of church planting. These “redirections of the Lord” (the Apostle Paul experienced at least one of these) are often used to reach people in our own nation. Following are two recent examples.
