How to Change Your Life .. Forever!
by James Ray
Today in Saint Petersburg, Russia, there are two hundred thousand people reading the Word of God. In May of '93 a BIMI team of eight men distributed one hundred thousand Bibles. In May of '94 a team of twenty-two men and women again launched a campaign in that city which is Russia’s second largest. This time the team had one hundred thousand large print, hardbound, beautifully printed New Testaments to distribute.
I thought that perhaps the hunger might have subsided over the twelve months since our first distribution but I was wrong. The people lined up and reached out empty hands for a copy of God's Word in greater numbers than ever. All of our twenty-two workers labored from early morning till night using every moment to grab another Bible to place in an empty hand. There was an urgency this year greater than last. The look on the faces of the Russians was heart rending. Their eyes seemed to say, “I must get this Book of God now ... they will soon be gone ... I might never have another chance.”
As always our team members returned from Russia ... changed forever. Listen to their comments after the trip.
“The hunger for the Bible that the people showed was completely unbelievable. I thought while passing out the Bibles that I was making history. What took place during the week was truly a miracle that only God could accomplish. During those days our group touched thousands and thousands of lives. I pray that I will be able to go again to Russia. My heart was so touched by the people of Russia.”

“The trip to St. Petersburg was without doubt the highlight of our ministry, thus far. The Lord has stirred my wife and me in ways that I cannot explain. Our hearts were broken for the people of Russia. Brother Ray you were certainly on target when you referred to Russia and Eastern Europe as an URGENT HARVEST. At night I wake up and I can still see the multitudes of people, their hands reaching out for a copy of the Word of God. I can still see the Russian lady standing at the door of our bus at the end of the day, pleading with her tears for a Bible. I’ll never forget the empty hurt felt in my inner being because we had no Bibles left to give her.
We take our freedoms and the Bible so lightly in America. May God help us to come to our spiritual senses. We here at Bible Baptist Church in Warren, Pennsylvania are going to do all that we possibly can to help you get the next one hundred thousand Bibles ready for Russia. If possible and if the door is still open I would like to be part of the next team going out to Eastern Europe.”

“It is amazing to me when I think of the spiritual lessons and truths that the Lord has brought to my heart and mind since the time we spent in St. Petersburg. There is nothing like seeing how the majority of the world lives to enhance our perspective. Brother Mike and I both feel a kindred spirit toward each of you that invested your time, energy and soul into the trip. Other than my salvation, it was the greatest experience of my life. The mandates in Scripture resound even louder and the burden for the lost souls of the world has been multiplied. That alone was worth the cost of the trip.”

“In May a team of over twenty people came with Dr. James Ray, my BIMI director to St. Petersburg. One hundred thousand Bibles were purchased by churches and Christians in America for the souls in Russia. We had a blessed time distributing these Bibles as well as going to a children’s home, hospital, army base, etc. The response of the Russians was wonderful. Many couldn’t believe we were giving Bibles free. Please pray for the seeds planted in so many lives.”

We Christians in America will have a lot to answer for when we meet God. A BILLION PEOPLE IN EUROPE ARE REACHING OUT TO US. I am reminded of the verse,” Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men . . .” Think of facing God with the blood of so many people on our hands when HANDS WERE REACHING OUT TO US FOR BIBLES. Knowing the terror of the Lord we must keep on going to Europe for as long as there is an outstretched hand... and for as long as we have a Bible to give and a missionary to go.
