CAMP BIMI
CAMP BIMI (Basic International Missionary Institute) was established in 1993 to educate missionaries for this generation and the generation to come. It is a missionary boot camp/institute staffed by experienced BIMI missionaries. Enrollment is limited to 50 students per camp. A minimum of 30 hours of instruction in practical missions answers questions and dispels doubts and fears about the unknown. Designed to educate students about the realities of missionary life and service before they make that final commitment, CAMP BIMI helps to prevent missionary casualties later on. The staff is present with the students at all times to encourage, evaluate and to be a support system. From the time they know missions is God’s calling-until they leave for the field-BIMI personnel are available!

CAMP BIMI II is only for those who have attended CAMP BIMI I. Graduates of the first phase are given the opportunity to continue their training the following year. Upon completion of a “mini-deputation,” SMART (Student Missionary Apprentice Reality Training) team members travel to different fields for a period of 3-4 weeks. Working with two missionary families, SMART provides excellent practical exposure to a wide variety of cultural differences and missionary work. National foods, long hours, grueling work, great demands and varied schedules help students know if missions is really for them. All SMART students are evaluated and must be involved in Bible and tract distribution, evangelism through the national church and also a physical work project.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY! GREAT THINGS HE IS DOING! God gives men visions so that He might have the joy of fulfilling them. CAMP BIMI is one such vision. It has been a great blessing to watch, with awe, God moving and working in each CAMP BIMI student’s life, knowing there is no possible way human beings could orchestrate such things. We have completed the major part of constructing a lodge and much needed dorm for men and women. The enthusiasm of 462 CAMP BIMI alumni, 76 percent of whom are still heading toward the mission field, has made CAMP BIMI an integral part in the training and preparing of our missionaries since 1993. Speaking from 38 years experience in missions, this is one of our greatest resources for the future of missions! These are our missionaries of tomorrow!
