Caribbean Radio Lighthouse -
Reaching into the Eastern Caribbean with the Light and Truth of God's Word

In this ever-changing world, radio can reach the most people in the shortest time with the unchanging Word. This is especially true in the islands of the Eastern Caribbean. Imagine more than one million people scattered over 20 islands who rely on radio for information. Many live in small villages. At home, on the street, on the job, and wherever people go, their radios go with them.

Since some of the islands have closed their doors to missionary endeavors and many governments are opposed to new missionary activities, the Lord has given the Lighthouse a unique opportunity to reach these areas and to touch the lives in places where Bible-believing churches are few and far between. For many homes the radio may be their only opportunity to hear the gospel message. Located on Antigua, Radio Lighthouse reaches islands no other station reaches with the truths of God's Word.

Our broadcasters have been carefully selected for their adherence to the fundamentals of the Christian faith and their testimony of faithfulness to God. All must be in agreement with the Doctrinal Statement of CRL. “For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for battle?” 1 Corinthians 14:8

A newly installed transmitter has already proven a worthy investment, enabling the station to provide better quality transmission of its radio signal while achieving greater efficiency. Problems with the old transmitter required shutting down the entire radio station. The new transmitter has eight different power modules, allowing radio transmission while repairs are being done. Engineers estimate the new transmitter only draws 60% — 75% of the power of the old one. This translates into an $800 — $1,000 savings per month! The new state of the art, digital technology also provides a purer, cleaner signal. Along with other technical advantages this transmitter should serve the needs of the radio station into the next century.

Over 30,000 children have written in response to the “Little Lighthouse Club” children's program. Each child has been sent a letter and easy-to-understand gospel literature. Many children, often from non-Christian homes, have responded with a decision to trust Christ as Savior. When possible, the names of those who write in, both children and adults, are given to the local pastors for personal contact.

The Lighthouse listening audience is composed of people with varying spiritual needs. We seek to meet these needs through balanced Biblical programming and individual follow-up. Our goal is to present God's plan of salvation to non-Christians, and to instruct and encourage Christians in the Word of God. Health and public service programs are tailored for the special needs of our Caribbean audience. Radio Lighthouse does not seek to take the place of the local church, but rather to complement the ministry of Bible-believing pastors in the islands.

The ministry of Radio Lighthouse is supported by faithful churches and individuals who have a concern for the spiritual needs of our listeners. Most of our broadcasters also support their own programs. The Lighthouse broadcasts no commercial messages and we make no appeals for funds or gifts over the air. A financial report is submitted to the government of Antigua and is available to anyone on request. We believe good stewardship and financial accountability are essential in a spiritual ministry. Expenses have increased sharply in recent years and continue to do so, but the Lord has been faithful and meets the station's needs.
