Location: Paramaribo, SURINAME
Cost: $2050 (All Inclusive)
Maximum team size: 10-25

Team Leader: Sean & Stephanie Lunday (BIMI South America Director)

CONNECT SURINAME in conjunction with Amazon for Christ will continue the mission of the Great Physician as the team travels by plane, bus, and boat with a group of medical personnel and evangelists, reaching some of the least contacted areas of the country. In the Amazon, medical care is often a key that opens doors to areas otherwise closed to the Gospel message, making a new church plant possible.

In addition to hosting medical clinics, the CONNECT Team will have an opportunity to evangelize children in the public schools and hold Vacation Bible Schools. During the trip, the team will help the Mariners start their first church in Suriname. CONNECT SURINAME will be hosted by BIMI Missionaries Mark and Emily Mariner. The team will also be working with several national pastors.

Suriname is one of nine South American countries that share the Amazon basin. The Amazon has the largest concentration of uncontacted people found anywhere on earth. Suriname has large groups of Hindus, Muslims, and Amerindian tribes. The team will be working with churches in and around Paramaribo and traveling to villages less reached by the Gospel. The people of Suriname predominately speak Dutch or Suritango, but English is also widely spoken as the unofficial language.

CONNECT SURINAME team members will have a choice to meet in Chattanooga on August 19 and fly with the group, or to have their flight booked from their closest major airport directly to Paramaribo, Suriname and meet the group there. Upon making the $100 deposit, each participant will receive a handbook detailing pertinent information to help prepare for the trip. Additional money may be brought along for activities, gifts, or souvenirs.

Special Requirements: Ages 16–65 in good physical health—medical training is welcome but not required.

Needed Documentation: Valid Passport
