Alan & Donna Brooks

Alan was saved in April of 1973 at 18 years of age and God led him to Bible college in the fall of that year. In 1976, he met his future wife, Donna. God moved them in the fall of 1979 to Central Baptist Church of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where Alan became the youth pastor for three years. In the summer of 1982, he was called to pastor the Bible Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It was during this time that God gave them a burden for missions around the world. After 12 years of pastoring, they resigned to go to the mission field.

In 1993, Alan and Donna were accepted as missionaries to Canada with Baptist International Missions. God led them to start the Berean Baptist Church of Winnipeg, Manitoba, pastoring until turning the church over to a young Canadian preacher. Robert Meyer, BIMI Southeast Asia Director, contacted Alan about becoming his assistant. It was then that they started working with BIMI’s missionaries in Southeast Asia. God has allowed them to raise funds to build an orphanage in India for victims of the tragic tsunami that hit the day after Christmas in 2004, leading two construction crews to actually build the building. God opened a door of opportunity in the islands of Fiji. After a chance meeting with the prime minister of Fiji, the prime minister requested that BIMI supply 232,000 Bibles for all of the students on the islands. The Papua New Guinea Education Department heard of what had been done in Fiji and requested to meet about the possibility of duplicating the project in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Since 2016 over 3 million dollars has been raised to fund the printing and shipping of 1.1 million Bibles into PNG.
