At the age of eight, David Snyder was saved and then baptized shortly thereafter. A couple of years later, the Lord called him into missionary service while listening to the presentation and preaching of a visiting missionary. Barb Snyder was also saved and baptized as a child and gave her life to the Lord to be used in whatever way He chose. In June 1990, David and Barb were accepted by Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI), as missionaries to Alaska and started deputation several months later. The Snyders began their ministry in Juneau, Alaska, where they assisted in planting Lighthouse Baptist Church. Later, they moved to the small town of Talkeetna, Alaska, and planted Talkeetna Baptist Church. During their ten years of service in Alaska, the Lord blessed the Snyder family with two sons, Caleb and Kyle, who are now married and faithfully serving the Lord. After much prayer, the Snyders moved from Alaska to Tennessee in May 2003, and David became the Far North Director for BIMI. After serving for seven years in that capacity, David was installed as the President and General Director of BIMI on June 8, 2010. The Snyders' prayer is that God will use them tremendously as they serve missionaries and local churches around the world.
