Republic of Ireland - Europe

The Irish constitution proclaims that the state´s name is Éire (in the Irish Gaelic language), while the world knows it as Ireland. The Republic of Ireland is the official description of the 26-county Irish state. It was created under the 1921 Anglo-Irish Treaty making it completely independent from England and Northern Ireland.

Ireland is the strongest English-speaking Roman Catholic country in the world! Traditionally, since the time of St. Patrick, Ireland has been known as "the land of Saints and Scholars," but today, it is known for "computer technology and commercial services." Ireland has accelerated its growth from a largely agricultural and tourist dependent society into a modern, technologically advance economy. It joined the European Community in 1973 and recently adopted the Euro as the national currency. This nation of 4 million has over a quarter of its population living in its capital Dublin.

Laboring since 1979 and sustained by God's grace, BIMI missionaries planted their first independent Baptist church in 1981. Beside church planting and strong discipleship programs, youth ministries are needed to expand the Lord's witness in order to reach 40% of the population that is under 25 years of age. We look forward to seeing what God will do with through committed team players that have decided to make Ireland their labour of love. Never before in modern history has there been a greater opportunity to reach the hearts of the people of this "land of Saints and Scholars." The time is right and the harvest is ripe. Won't you consider to help bring the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to Ireland?
