Katie Dilfer grew up in a Christian home and made a profession of faith when she was young. As she grew older, she began to doubt her salvation, but tried convincing herself that she had been saved by looking to the decision card she received on the day of her profession. For years, she placed her faith in the card rather than Jesus Christ. In 2011, she began attending The Crown College of the Bible in Powell, Tennessee. While there, in the spring of 2015, God convicted her about not truly having placed her faith and trust in Him. Katie accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and gave her life to Him. Shortly after, she accepted a staff position at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Helena, Alabama. Katie served there for five years as a teacher at Gospel Light Baptist Academy and as the church pianist for Gospel Light Baptist Church. During her time there, God began to stir her heart towards missions. Katie went on a missions trip to South Africa and began to feel the call of God on her life to serve Him in missions. God has called Katie to serve Him in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, where she will be serving alongside veteran missionaries, Mark and Amy Coffey.
Katie’s life verse is Luke 1:38a which says “And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it unto me according to thy word.” Katie’s desire is that she would be a willing handmaid of the Lord to do whatever He wants her to do.
God has placed a desire in Katie’s heart to win the lost in South Africa to Jesus Christ and disciple them. She will assist in planting churches and work with the music ministry in the church. Katie will also work with the youth and assist with the Camp Rhino ministry.
Katie’s sending church, Gospel Light Baptist Church in Helena, Alabama, is assisted by Baptist International Missions Incorporated. Katie has been on full time deputation since July 2020 and is scheduling meetings through the end of 2021.
I am pleased to wholeheartedly recommend Katie Dilfer to your church as she is seeking prayer and financial support for the work God has called her to in South Africa. I have seen God work in her life, seen her heart’s burden and tears for the people of South Africa, and seen her seek God’s will and surrender to it.
Katie has served the Lord faithfully here at Gospel Light Baptist Church for the last five years. She has been a great asset to this ministry, and I believe she will be a great asset to the mission work going on in South Africa. She believes the Lord is leading her to work with Mark Coffey and his family, veteran missionaries in South Africa. Mark Coffey has established a great work planting several churches already and is planting new ones. He also has a camp and desires to start a Christian school there. Their ministry is growing and they have a great need for more laborers.
Katie has helped administratively in our school in many ways. She has worked on our church and school staff, working with many age groups from infants all the way through teens and even college and career aged people. Katie is a very hard working individual who has worked on many various types of projects that have been a blessing in our ministry, and I believe will be a blessing in the ministries in South Africa as well. She is very capable in many specific areas that I believe will make a great impact in the churches in South Africa. But most importantly, she has a heart for God and to reach souls. She has led many souls to Christ while serving here, and has also trained several others to be soul winners. She has worked with and discipled several other ladies. She can play the piano and sing beautifully, and she uses all of these talents to serve the Lord, willingly and tirelessly.
Would you please prayerfully consider allowing Katie to come to your church to present her ministry? God bless you. Thank you for considering her.
