Editor s Down as on Step r. Thomps D ointed Editor App NEw By James Ray Dr. Ray Thompson has served as the editor of BIMI World since 1985. While the president of BIMI serves as the executive editor of the magazine and the overseer of the entire magazine, the editor is responsible for the logistics of putting the magazine together. This amounts to a great deal of research to commission, write or rewrite every article. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Thompson has brought to this position his vast experience as a missionary and mission leader. He has understood the need for promoting the work of missions and missionaries who serve in so many fields around the world. He has done an outstanding job as editor of BIMI World. As with every ministry Dr. Ray Thompson has undertaken, he has given 100 percent and has endeavored to make the magazine first-class for the glory of God. His editorial gifts and writing ability have not only served BIMI well but have inspired many to support missions. Missionary Ken Catoe, Production Editor of BIMI Publications, has been appointed as the new editor of BIMI World to replace Dr. Thompson. Brother Catoe has worked in the BIMI printing services department for 31 years and has served as a missionary with BIMI since 1987. He brings to this position graphic skills and knowledge of missions and missionaries gained from these years of experience. The leadership of BIMI is excited about the future of BIMI World. As editor, Brother Catoe has many plans for future publications. He has consulted with each field director to choose field editors to collect and prepare information from the areas where they serve. BIMI missionaries have been called to serve the Lord in 100 countries of the world. They will be encouraged to compile written and photographic information regarding their ministries and share these blessings with the readers of BIMI World. Brother Catoe has a passion to promote and publish the ministry of missions around the world and to serve every church and the missionaries they commission.
