We see people in lederhosen (leather shorts often with suspenders worn especially in Bavaria) and dirndls (a traditional dress style consisting of a bodice, blouse, full skirt and apron) all the time. In our tiny town of 2,000, there is a traditional Bavarian concert every Monday night. Parades and festivals are a constant occurrence. Because of their cultural pride, sharing the Biblical Gospel is an issue because it is perceived as an attack on their culture. Our challenge consists of sifting through what is Catholic and incompatible with the Gospel and what is simply Bavarian and does not need to be challenged or changed.
