By Andrea Mansfield James and Andrea Mansfield and family It was with much excitement and anticipation that we gathered our four little boys and stepped onto the plane on January 10, 2011. We said our last goodbyes to family and friends. That was the moment we had known would come since before we were even married. After 2 ½ years of deputation traveling coast to coast four times in an old motor home, adding two more children to our family, having two surgeries and experiencing countless other obstacles, we were finally going to where God had called us! Since we had purchased six plane tickets, we were allowed to bring six fifty- pound suitcases, six carry-ons, six personal items and four specialty items (car seats, double-stroller, travel crib…). We also paid a bit to bring four more fifty- pound suitcases. All our children were under the age of five and were no help carrying the luggage. With this we moved countries. You should have seen the porter’s eyes when we asked him to help us! We now serve our Lord in Liverpool, England. We live in the small town of Melling that is on the outskirts of the northeast part of Liverpool. On March 27, 2011, Amazing Grace Baptist Church had its grand opening. We meet in a Scout Hall within walking distance from our house. There have been some negative reactions from other churches in the area and some unkind rumors circulating about us, but the Lord is helping us to show the love of Christ in all we do and to show our desire to help all we come in contact with. There have been quite a few battles, as we have had outspoken criticism in our meetings, prank calls from the “Devil” and people saying they hope we fail and head back to the States! Our three-year-old broke his collarbone and we had a head-on collision that totaled our vehicle. Thankfully, we had full insurance coverage and there were no serious injuries. If anything is to be done for God, it will not come without hardships. We take these discouragements as a sign that God is working and will show Himself strong. 38 BIMI WORLD – Number 2, 2011
