We were amazed as 118 people filed in. There was a sweet spirit in the services as the Good News Trio from Virginia and a temporary choir led by missionary Mark Liedtke (BIMI to Belize) ministered in music. Jeremy Rowland presented the need for church planting in America followed by a message from Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh, pastor of the Grace Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia. BIMI's Reseeding America Assistant Director, Brother Bob Larson gave the charge to the new church and I was privileged to preach the main message entitled Glory in the Church from the third chapter of Ephesians. At the end of the day, we were pleased to baptize a husband and wife, Brian and Melissa. Forty-four returned for the evening service.” Pastor Threlkeld adds, “The Grand Opening was the culmination of numerous activities, but it is only the beginning for New Haven Baptist Church.
