New Church Plant in Annapolis, Maryland BIMI Reseeding America church planter Ed Beard and his family opened the doors of Freestate Baptist Church in Edgewater, Maryland, a suburb of Annapolis on Sunday, November 2, 2014. The Beards' sending church is Patuxent Baptist Church in Great Mills, Maryland, where Rick Conner is the pastor. The new church in Annapolis is the fifth USA church plant for Patuxent Baptist Church. There was a wonderful spirit of cooperation among sister churches in the Northeast as many came to help the Beards with door-to-door literature distribution prior to the opening of the church. On several Saturdays in October, there were over 100 people who drove in and met at a local Panera Bread parking lot to pick up church and Gospel literature and distribution assignments. There were 72 people in attendance on the first Sunday with a good representation of people from the Annapolis area. Just recently, this new church has rented more permanent facilities in Edgewater. They are also running a van every Sunday to pick up the midshipmen from the Naval Academy. Editor's Note: Just a few short weeks after the start of Freestate Baptist Church in Annapolis, Ed Beard was diagnosed with colon cancer. As of this writing, he is undergoing treatments. The Beard family would appreciate your prayers. 14 Reseeding America – Spring 2015
