When His feet set down on yonder shore And Jesus came to earth knowing what was in store, He was willing to go and live a life of such pain, Not for Himself but for our heavenly gain. He came to die to pay for our sin In a world full of darkness and din. Think of why He came and what He did— From His own Father’s face was hid. When I pause to reflect, I’m amazed all the more That His feet would set down on yonder shore. One day, our feet will set down on yonder shore, And we’ll be with Christ forevermore. We will have fellowship in that City of Light And be adorned in robes of pure white. Only what’s done for Christ will last. All else will be burned—it will not last. Heaven is a land of great beauty rare, No sickness nor death nor discontent there. Our sinful history will be gone, remembered no more When our feet set down on yonder shore.
