BIMI Deaf Bible College began in 1994 with 13 male students. Robert and Lisa Gunter, now missionaries to the deaf in Australia, assisted the Rempels. Reggie renovated the garage of the main house on the property into a dining hall and the other house was the dorm. Kim cooked and taught while Charity began going to a regular school. Everyone built, cleaned, Robert and Lisa Gunter cooked, gardened, and taught in order to keep costs down. Stanley Heights Baptist Church in East Ridge, Tennessee, became their home church and the members were such a blessing in the early years of this ministry. The school grew and finally their first graduate, Robert Fuller, completed school and became a missionary Robert Fuller through BIMI. Robert is now serving in Australia with the Gunters. In 1997 a deaf man on his way to serve the Lord through a ministry located in Trenton, Georgia, stopped by and asked if Reggie would consider beginning a Christian Academy on their campus for his two deaf children. In 1998 Faith Christian School for the Deaf (now Harvest Christian Academy) was started. Harvest Christian Academy for the Deaf is the only Christian Academy for the deaf in the United States.
