USA Inner City Church Plant Dedicates Newly Renovated Building By Bob Larson, USA Director BIMI/Reseeding America Missionary Church Planters Bill and Fannie Fluker and the members of Grace and Mercy Baptist Church, Jackson, Mississippi, are now utilizing their newly renovated church building. What used to be an old nightclub with much dancing and drinking has now been converted into a place of worship. The church purchased this building and property in an effort to move their ministry closer to downtown Jackson, closer to Jackson State University and a more populated area of the city. Prior to this move, the church was located in a storefront building. The renovated 8,000 square foot facility, dedicated on June 27, 2015, provides adequate space for Sunday school classrooms, nursery, office, fellowship hall, kitchen space, and a much larger auditorium. Pastor Fluker shared the following update after the building dedication: “What a joy it is to report to you that we had our Dedication Service on June 27, 2015, with over 70 in attendance! The following Sunday we had four join our church and three more who are interested. The four are already saved and baptized, and we are sharing the Gospel with the other three. We had some great singing, testimonies, preaching, and fellowship—not to mention all the Southern fried chicken one could eat. We are so excited to have a place where we can minister to the entire family. We continue to get phone calls from people who received information packets on their doors and have expressed a desire to come and visit. Our heartfelt thanks go to you for your fervent prayers and monetary investment in this inner city ministry. Many came and physically helped in the framing, electrical, ceiling, sheetrock, floors, painting, and the list goes on.” The Flukers are a testimony of faithfulness and persistence in starting and establishing an inner city ministry in Mississippi. We are thankful for their humble spirt and love for the Lord. I know they would want the Lord to have all the honor and glory for what He has done in Jackson, Mississippi. W 9
