A Testimony of God’s Provision Lianna Cuellar I glanced at the calendar—exactly two weeks remained before CAMP BIMI II began. “Lord,” I prayed, “please, if it is your will, make it possible for me to attend CAMP BIMI this year. You know I only have two weeks to buy plane tickets, schedule transportation, and pay for the cost of camp; none of which I can afford…but I have no doubt that you can do it! Father, please provide everything.” I spent the rest of the day begging God to work on my behalf. Little did I realize just how mightily he would prove himself to be. A few hours later: “Okay Lord, I need your help right now. Please grant me the strength to ask my unsaved dad for help with airfare.” Just as I took a deep breath to launch into my “Hey-Dad-do-you- want-to-pay-for-a-really-expensive-plane-ticket” campaign, my grandfather approached me with something in his hand. “I thought you might like this for your college fund,” he said. It was $100! I sat there speechless and praising God for already going before me. “Thank you, Lord, for giving me the encouragement I needed!” Later that afternoon, my dad agreed to pay for over half of the airfare, and my spot at CAMP BIMI was reserved! However, God had not finished showing me just how amazing he truly is. As my mom and I pulled out of the church parking lot Wednesday evening, she asked, “Did you hear what your youth pastor said?” “No,” I replied. “Well,” she smiled, “he asked me about the remaining cost of the plane ticket plus the cost of camp. When I told him the total, he informed me that the amount you raised with your youth group ended up almost equaling those expenses! He wants you to know that you are free to use that money for CAMP BIMI since you will not be attending the other camp this year.” Again, I found myself speechless at God’s powerful provision. Later that week, he even worked a way for me to ride from Nashville, Tennessee to CAMP BIMI outside Chattanooga with a wonderful family! My Savior answered my prayers! Everything from flights from Arizona to Tennessee and back, to spending money, and any expenses in between were covered – not a penny of my own funds were needed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalms 37:4, 5 Jehovah Jireh: The God Who Provides Undisclosed After hours of research and preparation, everything was ready to start our intensive language class. Another classmate and I had been praying very hard for this class. Provisions had been made to take a break from the medical work for two months. God’s guidance was sought for each step of the process. In spite of the intimidation of learning a new language, it was no surprise that we felt His peace that passes all understanding as we were ready for the first class. The peace engulfed us as we found out the day before the first class that we no longer had a language helper! We prayed, we prepared anyway, we pursued another helper, and God provided. By the start of class, we had another language helper ready and willing to start! Am I surprised at God’s provision? Not in the least. When we allow God to fight for us, He always wins the victory. The outcome did not quite look like we had thought, but it was designed by God, so we can expect results that will bring Him glory! CAMP BIMI 5
