room, and cooked for our six to eight resident students. Putting our noon meal in a slow cooker, I could spend the morning at the office, hurry home at noon, and with the help of a student, have the meal on the table by 12:30. God does not require more of us than we are able to do and always gives strength. In later years, we had few (and sometimes no) resident students. Burton concentrated on getting the curriculum into a format that could easily be used by pastors for personal study and for teaching in their local churches. He prepared an inductive Bible Study Methods course. He completed the doctrines courses in a question and answer format, providing Scripture references where students could find the answers and prepare their own set of notes. He also completed several book analysis courses in a similar format. He completed Bible Synthesis notes from Genesis to 1 John before he died in 2005. After his death, I moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where the Pioneer Bible Institute curriculum is being used in the church where I am a member. It is my joy to lead students through the Bible Synthesis classes with the notes Burton prepared. They contain many pertinent notes about historical events and personalities that give a better understanding of Biblical events. It became my responsibility to prepare notes from 2 John through Revelation to complete notes on the entire Bible. What a challenge! I claimed 1 Thessalonians 5:24, Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. The Lord provided opportunity for me to also teach Christian Womanhood in my church and in a church for the deaf. As God continues to give me strength and energy, I have taken the responsibility of helping with a Good News Club in a local school and the Victory Clubs at our church where we bus in local children two Sunday nights each month. We use a format similar to the Good News Clubs. My passion is to see God’s Word at work in people’s lives for salvation and spiritual growth. W 25
