Visits to the ministries of BIMI missionaries
in Asia and the North Pacific have been such
a blessing as we see people getting saved
and lives being changed by the power of the
Gospel. My wife, Jenny, and I have seen the
result of faithfulness in ministry in the lives
of dedicated missionaries.
We visited a family serving in a communist
country in the fall of last year and preached in
the two churches where they serve. After the
Sunday morning service, a visitor accepted
Christ as her Savior. In our missionary’s most
recent prayer letter it was mentioned that the
husband also trusted Christ. Now they are
both attending their discipleship class. The
missionary has two distinct ministries due to
having many domestic workers from other
countries in their area. These workers only
get one day off a week. Because of schedules,
services are held for one group on Saturday
morning and the other group meets on
Sunday afternoon. God is at work in the lives
of their people as the Word continues to be
proclaimed. Please pray for this church. Due
to governmental pressure there may come a
day in the future that the missionary will be
forced to leave.
It was an amazing thing to see the Word of
God being proclaimed and many people
responding to the Gospel when we visited
four BIMI families’ ministries in the
Philippines on different trips. On our trips
last year there were over 100 people who
trusted Christ as Savior. We also were able
to meet with most of our BIMI family in that
region in Field Conferences. They reported
many people coming to Christ in their
ministries. The Philippines is one of the most exciting
places to see God at work. At the ministry
of Doug and Becky Sisson in southern
Mindanao (min-da-now) where they
have served for over 20 years, there were
50 people who trusted Christ during one
Sunday of services. Most of those were due
to the testimony of a faithful Filipino who
regularly shared the Gospel with his family
and friends. The week before we arrived, this
gentleman passed away and his body lay in
