TESTIMONY
Tony Bulawa was raised in Roman Catholicism as a child and he served as an altar boy in the Roman Catholic Church. He met his wife, Paula, in high school and later they married. Together they attended the Roman Catholic Church. Due to the faithful witness of his boss, Tony was invited to the independent Baptist church of which his boss was a member. Soon after in February 1992, Tony received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized. After much trial and prayer, Paula also accepted Christ as her personal Savior in August 1992 and was baptized.
TRAINING
The Lord called Tony to preach the Gospel in 1993. Seeking to be obedient to that call, he enrolled in Bible college. Tony received his formal training for the ministry there and also received extensive practical training from his home pastor and church.
MINISTRY
In September 1993, Tony began praying and talking to his pastor about what he believed to be God’s call to the mission field of Northern Quebec. During a Sunday evening service, Tony surrendered to the call of God. Paula also accepted this as the will of God for their lives.
In 1998, Tony and Paula were approved as missionaries, serving with Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI). The Bulawa family moved to Quebec, Canada, in 2000, where they learned the French language and were involved in church planting. After five years, the Lord led the Bulawa family to plant the Mountain Side Baptist Church in Surprise, Arizona.
Brother Bulawa was contacted by BIMI to pray about becoming the Far North Director. The Lord confirmed this to be His will for the Bulawas through prayer and the Scriptures. On June 5, 2018, this became a reality when the Board of Trustees voted to have Brother Bulawa serve as the Far North Director for BIMI. The Bulawas are excited about the opportunity to serve the Lord and the BIMI missionaries in the Far North.
