Dave & Debbie Board

Serving in Cambodia, Southeast Asia

Dave and Debbie both had the opportunity to know the Lord as young people and attend a Christian school in the mid-west. Dave began working with the people of Cambodia in 1984 in Des Moines, Iowa and it was there that he learned the Khmer language and culture. They were married in 1988 and in 1990 began serving as home missionaries to the people of Cambodia who had fled civil war and had relocated to Long Beach, California. While serving alongside of Pastor Joe Esposito, a former BIMI. missionary, they were able to see the Khmer speaking congregation grow as well as gain vital experience that has proven invaluable on the foreign field. In 2003 the Board family was commissioned by Pacific Baptist Church as foreign missionaries to Cambodia. It was at that time that they joined BIMI.

The ministry in Cambodia has been blessed by God and reaches out to hundreds of children, teenagers, and adults on a weekly basis. Serving with the Boards is a strong team of Cambodian-American's who were reached with the gospel during the time that the Boards served in Long Beach and who have now been commissioned and sent out by Pacific Baptist Church to serve in Southeast Asia beginning in 2010. Likewise, there is a strong group of national believers who have been reached with the gospel and trained in the Lord's work who serve in various full-time capacities. The team presently has established churches and outreaches in 15 different villages within a 60 kilometer radius of Phnom Penh, Cambodia and has ministries among the Buddhist and Muslim population. As the team leader, Dave also takes frequent trips into a "creative-access" country to assist with the training of national church-planters and disciple-makers in that nation.
