We are Joseph and Donna Childers, missionaries in the island country of Grenada. We believe we have a unique opportunity to reach this island for Christ, as Donna was born and raised in Grenville, Grenada. This town has nearly 25,000 souls. We have been in Grenville full time since 2016.
We initially worked with a national pastor in Mamma Cannes for nearly a year, then founded Lifeline Independent Baptist Church in Grenville with
17 people in 2017.
Many Grenadians came in the early days, and showed great interest in furthering their knowledge of God and His plan for their lives. We began discipleship meetings, and in 2018, Lifeline Baptist Bible Institute, which has had 4-8 students in each term. However, despite their zeal, several students were stunted in their growth by a lack of ability to read. This led to the beginning of Lifeline Baptist Christian Academy in 2020, which is now a full preschool and elementary/primary school, the only Baptist elementary school in the nation. As of Fall 2024, we have
42 students enrolled.
Our desire is to plant Baptist churches here to reach the Grenadians, and teach them to plant churches in this, and other Caribbean islands.
The main island has a network of national pastors, but there are still areas, that have never heard the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and do not have like-minded churches. It is our desire to plant churches in Union, Balthazar, and Sauteurs as God allows.
