At the age of eight, David Snyder was saved and then baptized shortly thereafter. A couple of years later, the Lord called him into missionary service while he was listening to the presentation and preaching of a visiting missionary. Barb was saved at the age of ten and baptized at her home church in Chesapeake, Virginia. David and Barb were accepted as missionaries with BIMI in June 1990 and began deputation several months later. After completing deputation, they arrived on the field in May 1993. During their time in Alaska, the Lord blessed the Snyder family with two sons, Caleb and Kyle, who are now young adults. The Snyders began their ministry in Alaska in Juneau, where they assisted in planting Lighthouse Baptist Church. Later, they planted Talkeetna Baptist Church in the small town of Talkeetna. David was appointed the Assistant Far North Director in June 2002 and then Far North Director on January 1, 2004. On June 8, 2010, David became the President and General Director of Baptist International Missions, Inc. As God has expanded the Snyders’ ministry from the Far North to the entire world, their prayer is that God would use them in greater ways in the days ahead. Their desire is to serve missionaries and local churches by preaching God's Word and by challenging Christians with the needs that exist around the world.
