The Applegate Family
Tony & Kristy ApplegateServing in Uganda, Africa
Personal website
The Applegate family has been in Uganda since 2002. Their first experience was in the southern Ugandan city of Mbarara where they worked for 10 months maintaining the work of a missionary who was on furlough. During the 10 months the Lord burdened the hearts of Tony and Kristy to return to Uganda as permanent missionaries. In January of 2005 the Applegates returned to Uganda to work with Keith Stensaas and family in Masaka, a city 2 hours northeast of Mbarara. God has put a unique mixture of present and future planning for fulfilling the Biblical missionary role of church planting. They are active in Bible college training and national pastor building for present church planting endeavors. God in 2007 impressed on Tonys heart the G.R.A.C.E. Project in the aiding of local Baptist churches in the development of Christian schools with orphan boarding sections and street children ministries. Two national families have been very influential in the start of the Grace Project.- JJ Kalanzi with his wife Harriet and children, Leighton and Linda, and Pastor Diton with his wife Harriet and their 4 children.
