Jeremy and Michelle Blanz were both saved at a young age. As teenagers, they surrendered to serve the Lord in missions. They met while studying at Trinity Baptist College and graduated in 2008. They were married in 2009, and in 2010 they took a mission trip to Nicaragua. They surrendered to serve the Lord as missionaries to Nicaragua and in 2010 they were approved with BIMI.

In 2014, they attended language school in Costa Rica. They served as missionaries in Nicaragua from 2015-2017 and during their first term they planted the Iglesia Bautista Bíblica Bethel (Bethel Bible Baptist Church) in San Marcos, Nicaragua. By the end of their first term, the church was self supporting and supporting other missionaries through faith promise missions giving. In 2025, the church celebrated its tenth anniversary and supports 14 missionaries.

At the end of their first furlough, they could not return to Nicaragua due to severe unrest and violence. Seeking the Lord’s guidance, they transitioned to serve as missionaries in Costa Rica. During their first year, Jeremy served as interim pastor of the church of another missionary so that he could take a much needed furlough. In 2020, they planted the church called “Iglesia Bautista San Pablo Para Cristo” (St. Paul For Christ Baptist Church) in San Pablo, Heredia, Costa Rica. Despite the difficulties of planting a church during the pandemic, they persevered, and the church is now growing, maturing, and supporting other missionary church planters.

As they look toward the future, the Blanzes hope to establish other churches in Costa Rica as well as train others to do the same.
