Mark and Brenda Liedtke and family
Serving in Belize, Central America
Mark and Brenda Liedtke and their daughter, Libby, arrived in Belize, Central America, as missionaries in September of 2012. They are sent by Grace Baptist Church of Columbus, GA.
Currently Mark pastors two church plants:
Blackman Eddy Baptist Fellowship Church is a new English – speaking ministry in the village of Blackman Eddy, only a couple miles from the Spanish village of Buena Vista. It is two years old, and is meeting presently at the Bridge the Gap Ministries chapel and doing well. In January of 2017 God answered prayers, and brought missionaries from Canada - Dan Dinsmore and his family - to take this church as pastor.
Iglesia Bautista de la Gracia was started in 2013 and is located in Buena Vista Village, just off the road to Spanish Lookout. This work is in Spanish and now has its own building, thanks to supporting churches and construction mission teams. Many young people and several adults have accepted Christ in this village. There is much work to be done. In May, 2017, God answered prayers again, and provided a wonderful couple, Samuel and Elsa Ek from Mexico, to pastor this work.
There are many villages throughout Belize that need a Gospel witness and a good Bible preaching church. There is also a need for addictions programs, youth work, pre-schools, and musical training. The Liedtkes have a particular burden for the Spanish-speaking people of Belize.
