Serving in
South Africa,
Africa
I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home where I was introduced to the gospel at an early age. I accepted the Lord as my personal savior at the age of five. I am so thankful for parents who helped model servant ministry in our family. Their example encouraged me to surrender my life to serve the Lord in full time Christian service. I attended West Coast Baptist College, graduating with a degree in Secondary Education in 2006. After graduation, I returned to my home church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to teach at Westwood Baptist Academy. For fourteen years, the Lord allowed me to serve in many ministry opportunities at Westwood. I was able to serve in the bus ministry, children’s and teen’s Sunday school classes, music ministry, and various roles in the Christian school.
During my years at Westwood Baptist Church, I was privileged to take many mission trips, both as a teenager and as a group leader. It was during those trips that the Lord spoke to my heart about serving in missions. After chaperoning a trip to work with Missionary Mark Coffey and his family, in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, I knew the Lord was calling me to return to help in their ministry.
Ministry:
In South Africa, I minster with a team of missionaries who allow me the opportunity to teach and train women, teens, and children in many different capacities. I serve in church children’s ministry and teach a young ladies Sunday school class. I do some tutoring and teach music class at our Christian school, each week. I also have begun discipling some young women as part of our local church. I also serve on a team to facilitate monthly camp and retreat events at Camp Rhino. These events have been a huge encouragement to the members of our local churches.
