The Cerna family is serving in El Salvador. They have been in El Salvador since 2006, where they have established a church in the city of Santa Ana, the second largest city in the country. Steve felt burdened for his family's home country. While he lived in California, a family member visited El Salvador. The family member told him that there were not sound Independent Baptist churches in his home city. God laid the burden on his heart to fulfill this need. Soon after, he met Christine, who had surrendered to be a missionary when she was eight years old. Together with their three children, they serve at the church and work to evangelize the communities in their neighborhood and around the church.
